Our client, a provider of integration solutions is seeking a Software Tester to join their team in Farnborough.

The Role:

 

Working alone or alongside a project team, you will be responsible for two key areas of testing. You will be assisting and supporting customers through the test process getting them connected to the clients systems, as well as preparing for and testing updates to the clients products and offerings. You will be reporting to the Operations Manager/Project Manager.

You will be working closely with developers to undertake manual systems testing, write test scripts and maintain and execute automated scripts.

A large proportion of this role will involve customer and supplier liaison in order to ensure the customers testing schedule operates smoothly, so you should be confident on the telephone, and working on your own initiative and working in a customer facing position.

You will be expected to ensure that developers update the customer Test Support documentation as necessary, as well as creating and maintaining a Customer FAQ register.

This role has the potential to develop into either a Test Management or Project Management position dependent on the successful applicant's aptitude and skill set.

Required Skills:

·      Experience in testing web based products and websites against specifications

·      Extensive knowledge of testing Web Services

·      Ability to write test specifications, test plans and test documentation

·      Accurately estimate time required to test a given product or code release and working to agreed project timelines

·      Ability to compose detailed reports of testing outcome for the Project Manager

·      MySql Database operations including confident manipulation of data

·      Knowledge of basic commands in tools such as SSH, SCP, UNix, Toad, SoapUI

·      Confident in taking ownership of delegated tasks and engaging with the end client

·      Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including management and customer relationship management

·      Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

·      Tenacity, ambition and drive to succeed in all tasks

Desirable Skills:

Our Client, a provider of integration solutions based in Hampshire has a requirement for a Senior Application Developer (Ruby or Java) x 2.

The Role:

These roles are for programmers wanting to take the next step as a team lead, and ultimately onto architect. You should have experience of analysis and design of application architecture for small and medium size projects, in co-operation with senior analysts.

Our Client is looking for Java and Ruby developers, and you should apply as long as you can fill one or the other of the roles.

In this role you will work closely with the CTO and CEO in defining the technical and business requirements that will deliver the product from the vision. You will need to possess a good understanding of the important aspects of the documentation of requirements and design, programming and be capable of team leadership of small groups (1-3 people).

As part of your ongoing development towards technical architect, you will also be expected to provide mentoring to junior staff, as well as provide third-line support to production issues on systems to which you are contributing.

Required Skills:

As a talented developer, you will have been exposed to many technologies in your career. We're only looking for a few:

  • At least 3 years experience involving analysis and design of Java or Ruby applications
  • Experience developing applications designed to be deployed on a Linux platform
  • Experience developing both websites and back-end applications
  • EITHER 3+ years Java experience, including multi-threading, socket programming and JDBC/Hibernate

      OR

  • 3+ years Ruby experience, including Ruby on Rails. EVEN BETTER both of the above.

Desirable Skills:

  • Not everyone can fulfil every skill requirement. In conjunction with the above, some, or maybe even all of the following would also be of great assistance in securing a position with our Client.
  • Experience in a team leadership role
  • Experience designing RESTful web applications
  • Strong knowledge of how to construct and parse namespaced XML documents

Knowledge of more than just basic Ruby, an awareness of the multitude of gems out there which add such value to Ruby programming, likewise in Java, we'll expect a knowledge of thread, sockets, persistence management, programming with performance in mind and working with a continuous build process.

Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 per annum depending on experience
